Education in marine, climate and environmental sciences
The scientists at the ZMAW have teaching obligations at the University of Hamburg. These are within the framework of the newly founded Faculty for Mathematics, Computer Sciences and Natural Sciences (MIN).

Master and PhD Programs
In addition, members of the ZMAW participate in the School of Integrated Climate System Sciences and in the International Max Planck Research Schools Maritime Affairs and Earth System Modelling.
In the research projects of the ZMAW, students have the chance to take part in active research. Here, they learn about practical aspects and the value of interdisciplinary work. They get a chance to work with the supercomputer of the German Climate Computing Center DKRZ or in modern laboratory facilities or on research vessels and planes.
